November 2024 CALENDAR

The Creation District (1219 S Street, Sacramento 95811) is open for drop-in programming Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Opening and closing times may vary depending on staffing shortages and staff retreats. For daily updates, follow our stories on Instagram (@thecreationdistrict). Here is what we have going on this month:

OPEN STUDIO: Join us for “open studio” at the Creation District from 9am - 4pm most days (schedule listed below). This means that anyone can drop into the art studio space and have unstructured creative time with a studio stocked full of supplies! Grab a canvas and make a painting, mash up some clay on the pottery wheel, jam on our electric drum kit, upcycle a piece of clothing on one of our sewing machines, make your own beat with our music software and midi keyboards. Use your imagination and get creative!

RECORDING SESSIONS: The Creation District offers individual recording sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday at The District. Each session takes place inner private recording studio with a professional recording engineer and high quality sound gear. Sessions are 1 hour in length and within your session, you’ll have the opportunity to record your original music, poetry, or comedy, learn how to make a beat, perfect your singing style, or choose to sign on to our independent record label. WORKSHOPS, GROUPS, AND CLASSES: Every day, the Creation District offers workshops and classes that are taught by local artists. These workshops change based on the interests of the artists that use the Creation District studio so let us know what you want to see! For the month of November, here is what we are offering:
